CourseCast supports a wide range of recording scenarios - from traditional lecture venues, meetings or events to desktop, dual camera or web-cam recordings. In addition to dramatically simplifying the capture process, CourseCast automatically manages the downstream encoding, indexing and streaming so that presenters can focus on presenting and viewers can focus on learning.

What follows is a small sample of the many possible lecture, meeting and presentation capture scenarios. While production values range greatly (we generally do not have much control over that!), what all of these examples showcase is the minimum effort required to become operational with CourseCast and to begin projecting your institution's knowledge.

Events
	Book tour presentation with closed captioning: Thomas Friedman, author and New York Times syndicated columnist, "Hot, Flat, and Crowded" MacMillan publishing selected Panopto to capture Thomas Friedman's book tour lecture in Washington DC. You can search on any text within his lecture to get to the content that interests you the most.
	Speaking tour series with closed captioning: Lawrence Lessig, Founder, Creative Commons, Professor of Law at Stanford University Panopto sponsored the Sara Fine Institute's hosting of Lawrence Lessig, a renowned author and political activist. This is another good example of the power and utility of integrated, searchable closed captioning.
Education
	Podium Lecture: Nick Laudato, CIDDE, University of Pittsburgh Nick Laudato introduces the original version of CourseCast to the University of Pittsburgh system. This example demonstrates good videography, audio quality and overall high production processes.
	Desktop Presentation: Carnegie Mellon University This is a great example of a simple desktop recording. Professor Lee used an off the shelf DV camera to record an introduction to his incoming students.
	CourseCast Case Study: Miami-Dade College Mark Nestor, CIO of Miami-Dade College's Medical Campus, gives an overview of lecture capture technology, including a run-down of CourseCast use at MDC.
	Two Camera / Hi-Resolution Recording: Carnegie Mellon University, Genetics Class Lecture Many professors depend on chalkboards or other non-digital presentation tools, and this is where our our multi-camera, high-definition support comes in handy.
	Podium lecture: Yahoo Seminar Series: Set Retrieval 2.0 Yahoo has sponsored a series of lectures at universities around the country. This is a guest lecturer speaking about search technology.
	How-To video: Lebanon-Cornwall School District We love this example. It is an innovative use of Panopto to create a quick-and-dirty "how to" for use of projector systems. We use this internally!
Health Care
	Standing tutorial: University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, School of Pharmacy Another example of good production values. The School of Pharmacy/ DM Educate worked with Panopto to import their existing video assets into their CourseCast sytem to take advantage of the better video quality and note-taking capability.
	Medical Education Lecture: Licensure and Certification in the Healthcare Workforce NYMC uses Panopto technology to record health care instruction. Excellent production values in a traditional video / PowerPoint format.
Government
	City Council Meeting: City of Guthrie, OK The City of Guthrie uses Panopto Hosted to record its City Council meetings and make them available online.
	Government application training session, Google Earth screen capture: Florida Fish & Wildlife Panopto works very well capturing mutliple input source simultaneously -including screen capture. In this particular case we capture EarthNC, Inc., a provider of Google Earth based navigation software - as it's being presented on the computer screen.
	City Hall Meeting: Unified Government business meeting of Athens-Clarke County, Georgia Using the Panopto viewer, it is possible to skip to specific agenda items. The entire agenda text is searchable.
Corporate
	Small seminar with full video: Salesforce, Inc. This is an interesting example of where the videographer caught the video playback on the presentation system. We generally don't advise capturing video this way, but in this case, it was pretty effective.
	Technical seminar: Yahoo, Inc. Capturing informal technical seminars are a natural for Panopto. This example also shows how important it is to make sure you have the proper lighting. Live and learn.
	Technical presentation: Panopto, Inc. We had to get an example out there of our CTO in action. We use Panopto quite a bit to record deep technical discussions for downstream reference.
	Technical demo: DataPath Example DataPath produces very high quality VGA and DVI capture devices for PCs. This example shows DataPath VGA capture of some software demos. You can purchase DataPath equipment from our reselling partner, DYNYE.
