Lower Costs

  • Host Panopto Focus on your existing servers or host it with Panopto to eliminate all hardware investments. With Panopto Focus, no expensive hardware is needed. We also support VMware to further lower your total cost.
  • Use existing recording equipment or purchase simple webcams to keep equipment costs low. As a completely software-based solution, Panopto Focus recognizes all cameras, microphones or other recording equipment.

System/Network Requirements

  • To install Panopto Focus locally at your organization, you will need a Windows server 2003 or better.
  • The functional components of the Panopto Focus system can easily be divided across multiple machines for scalability and reliability—a dedicated server is not required.
  • The server's outbound connection will determine the number of concurrent users you can support based on a given level of recording and quality of video.

- Data Server Storage: Add 660GB for every 1,000 hours of HQC that you want to keep (660MB/hr). Note: Once deleted, you can no longer re-edit or re-encode.
Digital Video (DV) Quality
- Web Server Storage: Add 390GB for every 1,000 hours of web stream video that you want to make available (390MB/hr).
- Data Server Storage: Add 13TB for every 1,000 hours of DV that you want to keep (13GB/hr). Note: Once DV is deleted, you can no longer re-edit or re-encode.
