To the Panopto community,

My name is Tobi Hartmann, and I am honored to be Panopto’s new CEO.

After co-founding Panopto 15 years ago and leading the company as CEO since 2015, Eric Burns is transitioning to the new role of Strategic Advisor.

As leaders in education and business, you have all experienced firsthand how the past few years have transformed how each and every one of us works and learns – and with it transformed Panopto. As more and more organizations trust Panopto to share knowledge using video, the company is in a stronger position than ever to continue this mission.

I’m thrilled to bring my years of experience shepherding technology companies through high-growth periods to this exciting moment in Panopto’s history. As a purpose-driven leader, my career has focused on growing technology organizations that do good in our world – from building the first-ever electronic filing company with LexisNexis enabling better access to justice and reducing legal costs across the U.S., to scaling Corsearch, the global ESG leader fighting brand abuse of all kinds online.

I’m honored to join Panopto in our equally important mission to help anyone share knowledge using video.

As a business leader, I’ve led enterprise organizations through tremendous change in how we support and scale organizational learning. As a parent to a teenage son, I’ve experienced firsthand the innovation and resilience of educators in this moment. I’m more inspired than ever to support you in your mission to continually improve the access and quality of learning and knowledge exchange. Above all, I’m dedicated to continuing to help solve your challenges and earn your satisfaction, trust, and loyalty.

We would not be where we are today without Eric’s significant contributions to Panopto as co-founder and CEO. Under Eric’s leadership, Panopto grew to 200 employees in six offices around the world, serving more than 10 million video users. Perhaps more importantly, during this time Panopto became a video brand absolutely loved by millions of educators, students, and business professionals like you.

I’m looking forward to all that we will achieve together in the coming months and years. Thank you.

Tobi Hartmann
