## Overview

Harman AMX is a leading provider of AV control systems used in classrooms, meeting spaces, briefing rooms, and auditoriums. AMX control solutions and Modero touchpanels consolidate room AV management into a single interface—simplifying the operation of cameras, displays, microphones, and other AV equipment for presenters and instructors.

Panopto’s integration with Harman AMX connects room AV control directly to Panopto’s recording and publishing workflow. With Panopto built into the AMX control interface, instructors start, pause, stop, extend, or delete recordings from the Modero touchpanel without logging into a separate application. Every recording is automatically uploaded to Panopto’s video library on session end, where it is encoded for playback on any device and indexed for intelligent search.

The integration is suited for institutions and organizations that have already deployed Harman AMX control systems and want to add consistent, instructor-managed lecture capture and presentation recording across those spaces.

## Frequently asked questions

How does the Panopto Harman AMX integration work?Panopto is built into the Harman AMX control interface, so instructors manage recordings directly from the Modero touchpanel installed in the room. Starting a recording requires a single touch—no separate login or device interaction. When the session ends, the recording is automatically uploaded to the Panopto library where it is processed, captioned, and indexed for search.

What recording controls are available from the AMX Modero touchpanel?Instructors can start, pause, stop, extend, and delete recordings from the AMX Modero touchpanel. Scheduled recording information is also visible from the panel, giving instructors a view of upcoming sessions without accessing a separate system.

Does the Harman AMX integration support multi-camera capture?Yes. Multi-camera lectures, presentations, and events can be captured through the integration, with the recording initiated from a single touch on the AMX Modero panel. Captured content is automatically uploaded to Panopto, where multiple streams are synchronized for playback in Panopto’s multi-source video player.

How does this integration compare to the Crestron and Extron integrations? All three integrations—Harman AMX, Crestron, and Extron—connect room AV control to Panopto’s recording workflow, allowing instructors to manage recordings from the in-room touchpanel rather than a separate device. The choice between them is generally determined by which AV control system is already installed in a given space.

Organizations with a mixed estate of AMX, Crestron, and Extron rooms can use each integration in the relevant spaces, with all recordings publishing to the same Panopto library under the same governance and search infrastructure.

Are there support articles available for setting up the Harman AMX integration? No dedicated support documentation was available at the time this page was written. For setup assistance, contact Panopto support directly through the support center linked in the site navigation.
