Seattle, October 21, 2015 – Panopto, a leading video content management provider, today announced that it has joined the Riverbed®-Ready Technology Alliance program to bring new capabilities to Riverbed customers, expand the impact of Riverbed solutions, and help organizations succeed with increasingly hybrid enterprise networks. Integrating Panopto’s video platform with Riverbed SteelHead™ provides customers with a tested, verified, and fully-supported solution for efficiently streaming live and on-demand video content using existing Riverbed infrastructure.

Panopto works in concert with Riverbed® SteelHead to accelerate video delivery from the cloud and across the corporate WAN to any device. Panopto’s use of modern, HTTP-based video streaming and the HLS protocol enables SteelHead to cache Panopto videos at the byte level. Panopto video content can also be pre-positioned at remote offices during off-peak hours in order to use network bandwidth more efficiently. In addition, Panopto has been certified to work with SteelHead’s live stream splitting capability, in which multiple requests for a video are consolidated into a single request to the origin server.
