Introducing the Latest Release of Panopto Mobile for iPhone and iPad
Mobile devices have reached another milestone.
For the first time ever, according to Comscore, people in the US now use their smartphones and tablets more than PCs to access the Internet.
In school, more than 4 in 10 students already use a tablet or smartphone for schoolwork. Of those who do, two-thirds use the device multiple times per week.
At work, almost two-thirds of all businesses now support “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD), enabling employees to access office networks and tools on their own mobile devices.
And according to Gartner Research, 10% of all business videos are already viewed on mobile devices — a figure the firm projects to rise to 25% in the near future.
The convergence of video and mobile is changing how schools teach classes, businesses present information, and people everywhere share ideas and learn from one another.
To make it easier than ever to create, share, and watch videos on mobile devices, we’re excited to announce the latest release of Panopto’s native iOS app for iPhone and iPad.
What’s New in Panopto’s Latest Mobile App?
Watch Offline
Download any video in your library to your iPhone or iPad and watch it anytime — even without an internet connection. Now you can catch up on training and classroom materials from anywhere! (Note: This feature requires Panopto server version 4.6.1 or later)
Pick Up Where You Left Off
New DVR functionality lets you pick up video playback where you left off, and keeps a list of your recently watched videos so you can jump right back in with ease.
New Enhancements for iPad
iPad users will find new options to zoom in on primary or secondary video streams to view them full-screen, to set playback speed for faster or slower viewing, and to use Bluetooth keyboards with the Panopto app.
Faster Sharing
Easily share any of your videos directly from the mobile app — just click “share” right from the app when you’re video has finished processing.
Search in Specific Folders
With Panopto you can search every video in your library for any word spoken or any word shown on-screen. Now you can tailor your searches to specific folders — making it even easier to find exactly what you were looking for.
New Languages!
The Panopto app now supports Thai, Chinese, Spanish, French, Dutch, Korean, and Russian.
