Panopto and Viducon selected to Broadcast Exploration of Mars Event for The Niels Bohr Institute

London and Copenhagen – May 4th, 2021 – Panopto, the leading video management system provider, and Panopto partner Viducon, Denmark’s foremost video solutions specialist, today announced they will live stream the Niels Bohr Institute’s upcoming online event on the current NASA mission to Mars with the Perseverance Rover.

The event is expected to be attended by 5,000 invited students from across Denmark and will be streamed live from the National Tycho Brahe Planetarium in Copenhagen. Viewers will be able to listen to scientists and technicians who are involved in the mission. The Niels Bohr Institutet designed and produced one of the instruments on Perseverance and contributed to two other units. The calibration target ensuring that Perseverance can interpret the pictures sent back to earth by Perseverance has been created in cooperation between the institute and multiple companies.

The high-profile event will take place on May 11th using Panopto’s live streaming platform. Built on modern streaming architecture, Panopto reliably delivers the highest quality video possible to viewers watching on any device. The presenters will be able to share content from multiple cameras or computers and include supporting slides. It is hoped that fresh images from Mars will be included in the presentation.

“We are excited and proud to support this special event,” said Tom Davy, Managing Director, Panopto Global. “Panopto’s scalable video platform is the ideal solution for reaching live student audiences. We hope the event inspires the students to build on Denmark’s future contributions to space exploration.”
