Access AI generates summaries and enhanced smart chapters automatically—there’s no manual trigger required. Once it’s added to your Panopto deployment, it processes both existing content and newly uploaded recordings without any action from administrators or instructors.
Can learners choose which language to view captions in?
Yes. When a video has captions in multiple languages, each viewer can select their preferred language directly from the player. No action is needed from the administrator or instructor—the choice is entirely the learner’s.
Which languages does Access AI support for captions and translation?
Access AI supports captioning and translation across 20+ languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, and Korean. Administrators don’t need to manually identify or tag the source language for each video—Access AI handles that as part of the captioning process.
Does Access AI work on existing videos, or only new uploads?
Access AI works across your full Panopto library—both existing content and new uploads. When it’s activated on your deployment, it can process recordings already in your library to generate summaries, improve smart chapters, and apply multilingual captions.
Is Access AI available as a standalone product?
No. Access AI is a platform add-on that requires an active Panopto Video CMS license. If you’re not yet a Panopto customer, the video CMS is the starting point—Access AI can then be added as part of your commercial agreement.
